CATSA aims to recognise excellence in catalysis research by overseas scientists. In acknowledgement of their significant contributions, Eminent Visitor Awards were presented by CATSA to Prof Enrique Iglesia in 1997, Prof Avelino Corma in 1999, Prof Dave King in 2000, Prof Lovat Rees in 2002, Prof David Cole-Hamilton in 2004, Prof Hans Niemantsverdriet in 2005, Prof Gabriele Centi in 2007, Prof Walter Leitner in 2008, Prof Bert Weckhuysen in 2009. This year (2010) we have the pleasure of hosting Prof Bruce Gates. These awards include a lecture tour of selected universities and main catalysis research centres in South Africa.
